It resembles a human torso impaled in a metal contraption, which looks like the Halo of the Sun, a representative symbol of the Order. The Wall Corpse is also disemboweled, and appears to have some sort of claw-like contraption crossing over its mouth.
For the most part, Wall Corpses are environmental hazards. Avoiding them is advised. These creatures spray acid-like fluids tainted by what appears to be the occasional needle, alternating between a single spray and two quick sprays. To slip past a Wall Corpse without taking damage, move immediately after its rapid fire attack. Toward the end of the game, Murphy will find Wall Corpses mounted on wheels. With their enhanced mobility, these creatures are much more dangerous and also have an elongated range. Shooting these enhanced Wall Corpses will assure that less or no damage is taken.
The Wall Corpse could continue the theme of Downpour, that of lonely imprisonment, torture and pain. This is because the Wall Corpse is chained to the wall; it cannot escape its trap, similar to Murphy Pendleton, who cannot escape the memories of his sins. The Wall Corpse's method of attack (lashing out at anything that come too close) could also represent Murphy's attitude to other people in general; cold, distant and harsh.
- Inside of Overlook Penitentiary, there is a small hospital room with a dead unchained wall corpse on the bed. This could be considered unique, since they are usually only seen in the Otherworld.
