I know that the change in music in Silent Hill: Downpour was a huge shock to most fans. The decision to switch to Daniel Licht as opposed to Akira Yamaoka was definitely unexpected.
Personally, in the days leading up to the game's release, I was excited to hear new music from Yamaoka and was extremely disappointed to hear the changes during my playthrough. However, the music from Korn, Anna Ternheim, and the Highwaymen eventually grew on me, as well as the compositions by Licht. I found the change to be incredibly bold, considering what Silent Hill fans are used to, but it was also pleasant.
Now I'd like to see what you guys think. Was it a welcome change that was fresh and exciting or was it completely off-base from what Silent Hill really is? Please share comments and concerns and be honest!
