Some of you may know about the idea behind splitting the group memos on the Wiki, that a fair few of you are interested in helping with. Now I've asked a couple of Admins and the general consensus of it is.... Yes, it's fine.
Now it will involve a large amount of work, and I'm hoping those of you who were willing to help out are still eager. For the time being everyone only take ONE title and work through splitting all those memos, I wouldn't advise multiple people working on the same game just so we can keep it consistent.
Some general editing rules of memos:
- Split into two sections. The first part is the introduction which includes it's location, the game where it can be found and a brief description of the memo. TRY to keep this speculation free, even though some minor speculation may be necessary. The second part is the “Transcript” an italicized copy of the memo from the game, written word for word. Remember sometimes these memos would have been originally copied from other sources, so don't forget to proof read even these just in case there is an issue with spelling, punctuation or grammar.
- In regards to their location in-game, make sure this is as detailed as possible, for instance, “This memo is found on level A2 in the Overlook Penitentiary, and can be found in the leftmost cell on the bed.”
- If possible include pictures either from a reputable source (if they allow you) or your own high quality images. This makes the page look more presentable than just a block of text. It's amazing what one image can do.
- Two categories you need to remember; Memos and ('Game Name') Memos.
- Don't forget to add the appropriate Era icons, these being the ('Game name') icon and the memos icon.
- All memos must have the standard content bar, at the bottom of the page.
- As always proof read your page before submitting, and if possible get somebody else to take a look.
Right with that out of the way I'm going to be listing the group memos that need to be split into singular sections. As I'm replaying SH2 I'll take all memos for that game. Please edit this blog post and put your signature after the game that you'll be working on. Remember only one game per person if possible, if you want to work on them together make sure to communicate effectively to keep a general consistency with the pages.
