Another new game means more information and content to add to the wiki.
As such, the wiki could use all the help it could get.
To get started, you'll need to create a Wikia account which has plenty of benefits if you haven't already.
~ Spoilers ~
There's already a spoiler policy on the home page. Spoilers will be added to the wiki, straight from the get go. There are plenty of people who do not wish to be spoiled -- if you happen to be one of these people, please do NOT visit the wiki until you have completed the game. Please don't become furious at the wiki if you accidentally spoil yourself beforehand. Also, if you are going to create a blog, keep the title of it a non-spoiler, so don't go around naming a blog "OMG MURPHY DIES?!" or something. If you want to create a blog and it has spoilers in it, you should probably add a spoiler warning to the title.
~ Before you begin ~
Please read the Manual of Style and the Rules and Guidelines so that admins won't need to message you later.
~ How can I help? ~
There are several ways you can help:
- Writers - these people write the bulk of the articles. These people need to be careful of their grammar, punctuation and spelling. Some internet browsers have built-in spellcheckers.
- Formatters - these ensure that each article is neatly presented. They italicize titles, properly link to other articles, make sure that images are no bigger than 250 pixels, reduce extra spacing, etc.
- Organizers - these people ensure that every article is in its appropriate category. A perfect wiki has every article in a category.
- Illustrators - these people upload photos to the wiki. Because there's no PC version of the game, we have to rely on official screenshots and Youtube Let's Plays. Try to make sure that all images are of high quality. If you take a photo of your TV, the quality just isn't as great. Also, if you own the Prima Guide, you can also scan pages, edit them in Photoshop, and add them as well.
If you are having issues with templates, try going to your Preferences, go to the Editing tab, and uncheck "Enable visual editor (where available)"
~ Era icons and content templates ~
These are explained in the Manual of Style. Era icons and content templates should be added to every article relating to Downpour. Remember that the era icon for Downpour is "Shd" and the content template is "SHDContent".
Thanks for everyone pitching in and helping out the site.
