Silent Hill 3 Original Soundtracks was released in Japan on July 7, 2003 by Konami Music Entertainment, Inc. The soundtrack contains music from Silent Hill 3, composed by Akira Yamaoka.
The album also featured Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, as Melissa Williamson, and Joe Romersa, both debuting to the Silent Hill series with Romersa writing lyrics to all songs on the album that feature vocals as well as performing the vocals for Hometown, and McGlynn performing the vocals for Sun, Lost Carol, I Want Love (Studio Mix), Letter - From the Lost Days, and You're Not Here.

European release
The soundtrack was re-released in Europe as Silent Hill 3 Original Soundtrack as a pre-order gift for Silent Hill 3. The CD was packed in a jewel case inserted in paper box with different cover art. It also lacked the "Rain of Brass Petals - Three Voices Edit" found on the Japanese release.
American release
In America, the soundtrack under the name Silent Hill 3 Official Soundtrack was released on a CD bundled with the PS2 version of Silent Hill 3. Like the European version it lacked the "Rain of Brass Petals - Three Voices Edit" track.
