Stone is a character in the Silent Hill series, appearing in the comic book series Past Life published by IDW Publishing. A Christian reverend, he operated in a church in Silent Hill, Maine during the 1860s. He is an ancestor of Jimmy Stone, the infamous executioner of the town's cult who founded the Sect of Valtiel in the twentieth century and played an instrumental role in the 21 Sacraments for the Descent of the Holy Mother ritual.
History[]
Following the American Civil War, Reverend Stone worked in a church housed in the rural community of Silent Hill, Maine. The outlaw Jebediah Foster briefly attended one of his sermons after the birth of his daughter, where Stone passionately taught New Testament scripture to a large gathering. Foster was unable to stay, as immediate circumstances compelled him to attempt to flee the town.[1]
Legacy[]
- Main article: Jimmy Stone
Jimmy, one of Stone's descendants, was a key member of the town's resident cult known as the Order in the twentieth century,[2] which eventually gained significant influence over its infrastructure and criminal underworld. As one of the executioners of the town's longstanding tradition,[3] he wore a red hood during rituals and founded the Valtiel Sect of the cult, earning him the nickname of "the Red Devil".[4] He was sacrificed as the first murder in the 21 Sacraments ritual carried out by Walter Sullivan to bring their god into the material world.[5]
