The Bent Needle is a puzzle item found in the women's locker room on the second floor of Brookhaven Hospital in Silent Hill 2. James Sunderland will find the needle after pricking himself while examining a teddy bear.

The bent needle needs to be combined with a piece of hair and used in a nearby shower room to fish out an elevator key from a drainage hole. This is an example of an item being used for something other than its intended purpose, a trait which the series is famous for.
Trivia[]
- While finding the bent needle, Maria can be present or already staying in room S3. If she is in the room with James, she will ask him what's wrong, and he will reply that he pricked himself.
- The bear containing the bent needle bears a resemblance to the stuffed toys Laura plays with in the hospital room that she is found in.
