In the shacks area next to the Devil's Pitstop, a ghostly apparition can be encountered between rooms B and D. Read more below!
I found this secret ghost encounter back around November of 2,013 and decided to finally put it out there. This has, amazingly, gone completely undiscovered for over two years (not counting myself). I've searched everywhere online, and there hasn't been a single mention anywhere of this. It appears this has somehow slipped under everyone's radar. Which is amazing because this is a required area that many thousands of people have run past.
Before putting on the Classic Murphy outfit, if you go to the fenced area between rooms B and D, you will find a strange narrow black floating thing just idling. It doesn't react to you or your bullets.
If you then go put on the Classic Murphy outfit and return, you eventually will trigger the thing to quickly dash off to the right (towards room B). It does not come back. You have to reload the last save file to see it again.
The ghost has a smoky-like body (think the smoke monster from Lost), and it doesn't touch the ground. There is a white spotted area at the top, where a face should be. I've gotten a good enough look at it to see that the face has a skull-like appearance, with two bleach white rounded eyes staring blankly outward. You have to record it and slow the video down to see the face, it moves too quickly in normal gameplay.
When it suddenly dashes off, it makes a rustling sound (the same exact sound that the crows make when they rush off from the trees).
Every single time that every person has run past these shacks after putting on the Classic Murphy outfit, you have heard this ghost moving (but have mistaken the sound for the crows in the bushes and trees).
Of course, if you get the tram ticket BEFORE putting on the Classic Murphy outfit, you won't activate the ghost.
Go ahead and see for yourself! It's totally there.
